At the appointed time, we will meet our guide to visit the most famous sights of Rome. In the morning we will admire the Colosseum, the symbol of the times of Ancient Rome, the Palatine Hill, the birthplace of the city, and the Roman Forum, the most beautiful and important archaeological area in the world.
After lunch, the tour continues with a visit to the Vatican Museums, one of the most important art collections in the world.
The itinerary includes the Hall of Pio Clementino, the Viewpoint of Laocoön and Apollo, the Gallery of the Candelabra, the Gallery of the Tapestries, the Gallery of the Maps, and the Sistine Chapel to admire Michelangelo's frescoes, one of the most famous works of art of all time, after the Vatican Museums.
We will then visit St. Peter's Basilica, the largest church in the world and symbol of the Catholic religion, with iconic masterpieces such as Michelangelo's Pieta and Bernini's enormous Baldacchino. In case St. Peter's Basilica is closed, the tour includes a visit to the Raphael Rooms.
The tour ends in St. Peter's Square, dominated by Michelangelo's imposing Dome and surrounded by Bernini's famous double colonnade.
Tip Greca: Remember to wear comfortable shoes and water to drink on the way. For the visit to the Vatican there are rules on clothing, knees and shoulders must be covered.
