Private Wadi Rum Tour from Amman

On this private day trip from Amman you will experience the extraordinary beauty of the Wadi Rum desert, red and pink sand with towering cliffs of various colors of brown, reddish and gold.

You will leave with our private, comfortable and air-conditioned vehicle to the sheltered desert valley of the moon, located 4 hours south of Amman. You'll take in the views as you travel south through Jordan's desert landscapes to the towering cliffs of Wadi Rum. Stretching across much of southern Jordan, this protected valley features towering sandstone mountains, rugged riverbeds, and steep gorges; all covered in a kaleidoscope of natural rock colors, from pinks to vivid reds.

You will explore its spectacular landscapes on a 2-hour tour in a 4x4 jeep with a Bedouin driver who will be your local guide. You will have time for a photo shoot at the Martian movie location, explore the Mars walk, wander through narrow gorges and red desert plains past crimson dunes, natural stone bridges and towers. Between this emptiness and silence, you will visit the seven pillars of wisdom and the holographic images carved before Christ.

You will see ancient inscriptions, and Lawrence of Arabia's spring; a hidden oasis made famous by T.E. Lawrence, also known as Lawrence of Arabia, where the film has taken place. During World War I, this British officer and archaeologist fought here alongside Bedouin Arabs against the Ottoman Turks, making their headquarters in the valley. Many Wadi Rum sites are named after this still-revered British soldier. You will pass through narrow gorges and plains, framed by natural rock arches, towering peaks, ancient caves and red dunes.

You will visit a Bedouin tent to enjoy a glass of refreshing local mint tea and meet the friendly locals.

Optionally, you can extend your tour to include another two-hour jeep tour to visit the big bridge or also opt for a 30-minute camel ride in the desert to make your visit more special.
