At dawn, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast to begin our journey.
We will head towards the Peloponnese region, making a brief stop at the impressive Corinth Canal, a monumental work from the late 19th century.
We continue our journey through the mountains to Tripoli, the capital of the Arcadia region. You will have free time to explore this lively city, especially Areos Square, surrounded by cafes and restaurants that invite you to enjoy the local atmosphere.
Next, we will proceed to Olympia, where we will visit its famous archaeological site (entrance and local guided tour included). This iconic place hosted the first Olympic Games in 776 B.C., with athletes from all over Greece and its colonies. Some of its most prominent monuments include the Temple of Zeus, the stadium, the gymnasium, and the palaestra, which transport us to the ancient Olympic era.
Our route continues towards Patras, the third-largest city in Greece, known for its vibrant port and impressive medieval fortress. Here, we will visit the Cathedral, the largest church in the country, and the nearby Church of St. Andrew, an important pilgrimage site.
At the end of the day, we will enjoy a delicious included dinner.
Greca Tip: If you want to try an authentic Greek sweet, order "loukoumades" at a café in Olympia. These are small fried dough balls drizzled with honey.
