We will meet at the agreed point to discover Diego Armando Maradona's Naples.
We will start at Piazza Plebiscito, pass through the majestic Galleria Umberto I, and arrive at the “Quartieri Spagnoli” or Spanish Quarters. Here, amidst narrow alleys and typical bustling life, you will understand how much the Neapolitans loved Maradona, who gave them their first “Scudetto” and brought Naples to the international sports stage. “Diego-mania” is everywhere, from murals and fireworks to merchandise and figurines in the traditional Neapolitan “Nativity scene.”
We will visit two key sites: Vico Lungo Gelso and Piazza Maradona on Via Emanuele De Deo. Here, murals and street art pay tribute to Maradona, including a famous mural in Piazzetta Diego Armando Maradona, which has become a pilgrimage site for fans.
Greca Tip: In 2020, the San Paolo stadium was renamed Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in his honor.
