After enjoying a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we will begin our morning exploring Kanazawa, a city that for centuries rivaled Kyoto and Tokyo in cultural refinement. Its historical fortune is evident in the fact that during World War II it was one of the few major Japanese cities spared from bombings, thus preserving its traditional atmosphere.
First, we will walk through the castle area, where its walls and expansive grounds evoke the splendor of feudal times. We will then continue to the Nagamachi district, the former samurai quarter, where we can stroll among traditional residences, earthen walls, wooden gates, and canals that still retain the essence of Japan’s Edo period.
Later, we will visit Kenrokuen, considered one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan, a place where ponds, hills, and meticulously designed landscapes create perfect harmony. We will end the visit at Omicho Market, the lively traditional market full of local aromas and flavors—an ideal spot for lunch.
The afternoon is free to continue exploring the city at your own pace.
At the end of the day, we will return to the hotel to rest.
Greca Tip: Don’t miss the crab sushi at Omicho Market—it's known as some of the freshest in Japan.
