From Switzerland to Venice by Rail | 6-Day Trip

After you arrive in the largest city in Switzerland and the capital of the canton of Zurich, transfer to the hotel will be carried out by one of our vehicles. The driver will ensure your comfort throughout the journey. You will have the rest of the day free to relax and explore at your own pace.

Zurich is a city that beckons with its charming cobblestone streets in the old town (Altstadt), its lively shopping scene on the Bahnhofstrasse, and the natural beauty of the nearby lakes and mountains.

It is also known for being an important financial center worldwide. It is home to numerous banks and insurance companies and is considered one of the cities with the highest quality of life globally.

After a complete breakfast, you will have the morning free until 12:30 PM when you will have to meet the guide at the meeting point to begin the visit of the city.

You will enjoy a tour aboard a bus and admire the National Museum of Zurich, the Bahnhofstrasse shopping avenue, the city's financial district, and the famous Zurich Opera. Enjoy a photo stop by Lake Zurich before boarding a ferry and exploring the university quarter, where you can see the Federal Institute of Technology Zurich and the Museum of Fine Arts Zurich.

The next stop on the tour will allow you to discover the historic center. Stroll through its picturesque pedestrian streets and admire the houses of the different historic guilds, as well as the Church of St. Peter, where you can see the largest wall clock in Europe, the Grossmünster Church, and the Fraumünster Church, decorated with stained glass. The tour continues along the Gold Coast to Meilen, where you will board a ferry across the crystal-clear waters of Lake Zurich to Horgen.

Next, you'll take the only cable car in the canton of Zurich to ascend to the Felsenegg viewpoint, where you can enjoy magnificent views. This activity is subject to change depending on the season.

The Felsenegg has become a famous recreational area for the residents of Zurich and its surroundings. From this place, you can see spectacular views of the city, the lake, and the snow-covered Alps.

Arrival in Zurich around 5:30 PM. The rest of the day is to finish visiting the corners of the city that we have not yet discovered.

Greca Tip: Be sure to try fondue, it is one of the most emblematic in Switzerland. It is cheese melted in a mixture of white wine and garlic and is commonly served with pieces of bread. There are different variants, such as cheese fondue, and chocolate fondue, besides other delicatessens.

​After a delicious and complete breakfast, you will take the train from Zurich to Milan. After we arrive in Milan you will transfer to the hotel on our own. The rest of the day is free to visit the city.

Milan is a city where you can enjoy its architecture and its important pictorial works such as "The Last Supper", Leonardo Da Vinci's masterpiece.

The Duomo and the square where it is located are a symbol of Milan. Different points of interest such as the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, the La Scala Theatre, one of the most famous opera houses in the world, or the Brera neighborhood, make it one of the cities that invites us to visit it.

Greca Tip: Walk along Via Mercanti to Via Dante, which is one of the most important streets in Milan where you will find shops, cafes, and restaurants. This famous avenue ends at the foot of the Sforzesc Castle.

After breakfast, head to Milan train station on your own and take a train to Venice Santa Lucia.

Once in Venice, you will go on your own to the assigned hotel near the station, and you'll have the rest of the day free.

Venice, the capital of the Veneto region in northern Italy, encompasses over 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea.

It has no roads, only canals, including the Grand Canal, lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces. In the central St. Mark’s Square, you’ll find St. Mark’s Basilica with its Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower offering views of the city’s red roofs.

After enjoying our breakfast, we will have the opportunity to continue discovering the timeless beauty of Venice, one of the world's most enchanting cities. Built across a network of canals and islands, the city captivates visitors with its rich history, elegant architecture, and unmistakable atmosphere.

At the indicated time, make your own way to the meeting point in St. Mark's Square to begin a memorable 30-minute traditional gondola ride through Venice's iconic canals. As you glide along the narrow waterways aboard one of the city's most famous symbols, you will admire elegant bridges, hidden corners, and magnificent palaces while experiencing Venice from a truly unique perspective.

After the gondola ride, the remainder of the day will be at leisure to continue exploring Venice at your own pace. Wander through its picturesque neighborhoods, browse artisan boutiques, relax in a traditional café, or simply soak in the atmosphere of its charming squares and canals. For those wishing to further enrich their visit, the optional Venice Combo Tour, featuring the Doge's Palace and St. Mark's Basilica, offers an excellent opportunity to discover two of the city's most remarkable cultural and architectural treasures.

At the end of the day, we will return to the hotel to relax and enjoy a well-deserved evening of rest.
