Excursion Itinerary: Boat tour around milos from adamas

The cruise sails at 09:30 hrs. from the port of Adamas. Time to start our circumnavigation of the island heading northwest towards Cape Vani, an impressive 30-meter tall rock behind which the old 19th-century iron mine operated. Then it continues sailing along the west side of the island, passing the bay of Triades and Ayios Ioannis, till the first stop for swimming has been reached, Sykia, the biggest cave in Milos. A short photo stop in front of the spectacular cave entrance and after anotherr stop in the bay to the south of the cave, an old volcanic crater, with colorful volcanic rocks, crystal clear emerald waters; one of the best snorkeling points of the island. Brunch will be served when you come up from your swim.

Next destination, Kleftiko, the most famous place in Milos. The name means a place of thieves and comes from the fact that it was used for centuries by pirates as a hideout and lair. Kleftiko is a unique combination of white and grey rocks creates one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. Snorkeling here is an amazing experience complete with underwater passages, caves and unsurpassed water clarity. You will be provided with masks, flippers, underwater cameras and a few tips about what you can do. Refreshments and ice-cold beers will be waiting for you when you get back to the boat accompanied by many delicious snacks.

Leaving Kleftiko, we continue sailing the south Milos, passing by the bay of Gerontas, Provatas, and the famous beaches of Fyriplaka and Tsigrado, till we reach our next swim stop, the impressive bay of Gerakas, one of the best beaches in Milos, accessible only by boat.

After finishing our swimming the trip continues along the south side of the island till the east to admire the beautiful Theiorychia, where the abandoned 1870’s sulfur mines still stand creating a magnificent landscape. Here another time is given to take some photos and after, the boat continues towards the island of Poliegos, the largest uninhabited Greek island and home to some of the most impressive waters in the Mediterranean. The main stop in this amazing island is the area of Galazia nera, or blue waters, where together with the transparent and fluorescent color of the sea that makes this place one of the best beaches in the whole of Greece, you will enjoy swimming and having a delicious lunch prepared on board.

Our next stop is Glaronisia, the seagull islands. This uninhabited island is a rare geological phenomenon consisting, completely, of hexagonal-shaped lava rocks. A short photo stop here to admire the landscape and feed the seagulls.

The final part of our trip consists of sightseeing in the bay of Adamas. Sailing close to the east coast of the bay, you will then pass the ‘Arkoudes’, the impressive 20ft bear-shaped rocks at the entrance of the bay to the east and continue to the fisherman villages of Fourkovouni, Areti and Klima, the capital of ancient Milos and where the statue of Venus de Milo was discovered. While taking beautiful photos you can also learn some historical facts about the island, as a part of our guided tour.

Our cruise ends with the sun in the back and beautiful sunset colours. The return to Adamas port is around 18:30 hrs.

Greca Tip: Try not to forget your camera so that you can keep the memories of the stunning landscape.
